Two services, two uses
Villo! is the Region's bike-share system: stations spread across the 19 municipalities, for one-off trips of a few minutes to a few hours.
Blue-bike answers a different need: its points are at railway stations and serve the last kilometre after a train journey, on reservation and generally for the day.
A few useful habits
The terrain weighs on availability: stations in the lower city fill up, those on the heights empty out. Electric assistance softens the climb but does not change the direction of the flow.
A station shown with zero bikes or zero free docks really is empty or full: aim for a neighbouring one rather than making the trip for nothing.
Where the data comes from
Availability comes from the public GBFS feeds of both services, queried at the pace they announce. For some Blue-bike points, the feed publishes a total rather than a live count.

- What is the difference between Villo! and Blue-bike?
- Villo! is a station-based bike-share service for short trips within the Region. Blue-bike is a railway-station hire scheme, on reservation, for the last kilometre.
- Are Villo! bikes electric?
- The fleet is now very largely electrified. Each station record breaks down the split where the feed publishes it.
- Is the availability shown live?
- It comes from the services' official feeds, refreshed continuously. A lag of a few moments remains possible.
- Can I plan a route from a Villo! station?
- Not yet: Villo! and Blue-bike availability is shown live, but the Brussels Region is not covered by the route planner.
