Interactive map in Lyon — bike share.

Data refreshed continuously from the official feed.

What the map shows

Launched in 2005, Vélo’v was the first large French bike-share system and served as the model for most of those that followed. The network covers Lyon, Villeurbanne and the neighbouring municipalities.

Each station shows the bikes available and the free docks. The fleet is mixed: a station record breaks down mechanical bikes and electrically assisted ones.

The terrain changes everything

In Lyon more than anywhere, the direction of travel matters. Stations on the heights — Croix-Rousse, Fourvière, Saint-Just — empty downhill over the course of the day, and refill by lorry rather than by pedal.

Check the state of the bike before setting off — the brakes above all, essential on the descents — and report any fault from the app: a reported bike is taken out of service.

Where the data comes from

Availability comes from the service's public GBFS feed, queried at the pace it publishes. Sécu’Cycle is not affiliated with the operator.

Frequently asked questions

The network has on the order of 430 stations across Lyon, Villeurbanne and the neighbouring municipalities. The map shows those published in the official feed.
Is the availability shown live?
It comes from the service's official feed, refreshed continuously. A lag of a few moments remains possible, particularly at rush hour.
Are there electrically assisted Vélo’v bikes?
Yes, part of the fleet is electric. Each station record breaks down the split between mechanical and electric bikes where the feed publishes it.
Can Sécu’Cycle guide me from a Vélo’v station?
Not yet: availability is shown live, but route planning does not cover the Lyon metropolitan area.
