What the map shows
Brussels fountains cluster in the parks and on the squares. In recent years the Region has installed drinking fountains designed for refilling a bottle rather than merely drinking from.
Part of the network is shut off in winter to prevent freezing: the map shows the installation all year round, without indicating when it is closed.
Staying hydrated on a bike
Brussels terrain makes itself felt as soon as you leave the Senne valley: climbing towards Ixelles, Uccle or Woluwe takes real effort, even over a short distance. Refill before the climb rather than after it.
Where the data comes from
The locations come from OpenStreetMap, resynchronised automatically. A fountain out of service or shut for the season stays on the map: the survey records the installation, not its current state.

- Yes. Only points delivering drinking water are shown; those recorded as non-potable in the data are excluded.
- Do the fountains run all year round?
- Part of the network is closed during the cold months to prevent the pipes freezing.

- The data comes from OpenStreetMap: add it on openstreetmap.org and it will be picked up at the next sync.
- Can I route my ride past these water points?
- Not in Brussels yet, where route planning is unavailable: it relies on a road network loaded for a narrower area.
