What the map shows
Only water declared drinkable is kept: park taps, street standpipes, points in playgrounds and sports facilities. Ornamental fountains are excluded.
Part of the network is shut off in the cold months to prevent freezing — a real consideration in Alsace, where winters bite harder than on the Atlantic coast.
Staying hydrated on a bike
